Breaking News Covid Level 3

Welcome whanau,

Room 6 and Room 7 have created an exciting movie for our Manaiakalani film festival. We are a team of year 3/4 and 7/8 students who usually buddy up for reading and thought this would be another great way to continue our learning together.

We had so much fun, learning how to hold a camera, take sequenced shots as well as looking forward and sideways towards the camera. We had a few challenges around sound and props, but loved making it anyway.

Its called "Breaking News Covid Level 3"

Water Safety Visit

Today we had a visit  from Danielle Strom who is from
Aquatic Education & Water Safety. She shared lots information about keeping ourselves safe around water. Especially when swimming at our local pools or when we are having fun at the beach. We also talked about being safe if heading out fishing with our family, making sure we all know to wear life jackets.
Here are a few pics.

Respecting how we use our Chromebooks

Kia ora whanau, we have almost completed our first term together. What a learning journey it has been.  We have written some fabulous stories, (published in our school newsletter), left messages on our buddy blogs, created some awesome paper Korowai (cloaks) to see in Matariki and continued making our cardboard arcade games. We also  celebrated our schools 66th birthday with a delicious chocolate cake!

Week 10 already!

Kia ora everybody, we have worked really hard this week to manage ourselves and work well with others. We have been learning skills to play Rippa Rugby, and what Fair Play is. Had fun with Mrs Mitchel, playing our recorders too. We have also continued to construct our cardboard arcade games. Today we had our buddy class come and share their thoughts and ideas about what we'd done so far. They also lent a helping had with some of the tricky bits.
